With the launch of domestic air services from Adampur Civil Airport to Mumbai, the administration, withthe support of the Government, is now intensifying efforts to secure direct flights to New Delhi to further enhance air connectivity for the region.
Congratulating the people of Doaba, especially Jalandhar residents, on the maiden Mumbai flight on
Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said this service would prove to be a game-changer for the NRI and industrial hub of Punjab. He highlighted that passengers can now conveniently access domestic and international destinations through connecting flights such as Amsterdam, Goa, and Chennai via Mumbai, ensuring better connectivity for travellers.
Dr. Aggarwal shared that discussions with airline operators have begun to start flights from Adampur to
New Delhi, which would further cater to the travel needs of the entire Doaba region, expecting positive outcomes in the coming days. He urged NRIs and the business community to take maximum advantage of the Mumbai flight for their travel needs. He also said various efforts will be made to make road travel to the Adampur Airport smoother with the guidance of the Government of Punjab.
On behalf of the Jalandhar administration, SDM Adampur Vivek Modi visited Adampur Civil Airport onWednesday to mark the occasion of the first flight to Mumbai, expressing confidence that the new connectivity would significantly ease travel for residents and promote economic growth in the region.
