JALANDHAR
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today welcomed as many as 54 newly appointed Patwaris in the district, exhorting them to work with sincerity and dedication while serving the public. Congratulating the new appointees, Dr. Aggarwal said they were fortunate to have received this opportunity to serve society at the grassroots level. He described Patwaris as the backbone of the state’s revenue administration, entrusted with crucial responsibilities including Girdawari, land demarcation, maintaining revenue records, and ensuring proper implementation of field-level processes. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Patwaris act as true representatives of the state government in the field. He particularly highlighted their vital role during the harvesting season, when their vigilance and accurate reporting help safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure smooth functioning of revenue operations. Dr. Aggarwal lauded the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for taking revolutionary measures to fill longstanding vacancies in the revenue department by appointing new Patwaris across the state. He noted that this step would significantly strengthen field-level governance and address public grievances more effectively. Urging the newly appointed Patwaris to leave no stone unturned in discharging their duties, the Deputy Commissioner asked them to ensure that the benefits of the government’s pro-people initiatives percolate to the last person in the queue.
