The Lohian Khas police have booked fifteen villagers on the charges of attempt to murder and firing.
Investigating Officer (IO) Avtar Singh said that the accused have been identified as Pashora Singh, aresident of Mundi Kalu village, his brothers Kuldeep Singh and Sawann Singh, his son Karamjit Singh, his nephew Akashdeep Singh and Sarabjit Singh, and Gurjit Singh, residents of the same village, and their nine unidentified accomplices.
Rajindar Singh, a resident of Mundi Kallu village, complained to the police that he, along with other villagers, went to strengthen the Dhussi Bandh of the River Sutlej from the JT road bridge to Nahal village.
The complainant said that the accused were already present there and assaulted him, removing his turban,pulling his hair, and firing with intention to kill.
IO said that a case under section 109(attempt tomurder) 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 299( deliberate and malicious acts intending to outrage religioufelling of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs ) 191 (3)(rioting armed with deadly weapons ) 190 (unlawful assembly) of the BNS and sections
25/54/59 /of the Arms Act has been registered against the accused.
