The Lohian Khas police have arrested a woman travel agent on the charge of cheating a person of Rs. 4 lakhs on the pretext of sending his son abroad.Shahkot Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Onkar Singh Brar said that the accused has been identified as Saman Manpreet Kaur, wife of Dilbag Singh, a resident of Jang village under Lakhoke (Behram ) police station, Feroze Pur, who had been arrested for cheating and breach of
trust on the complaint of Darbara Singh, a resident of Mundi Chohlian village.
He had complained to the police that he had given Rs. 4 lakh totravel agents for sending his son abroad, but
his son was neither sent abroad nor returned the money.
DSP said a case under section 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating), and section 13 of the Punjab TravelProfession Control Act wasregistered in February 2019 against the accused and others.
