Gang of traffickers busted five women among six arrested

 

NAKODAR

The Nakodar Sadar police have busted a gang of traffickers and arrested its six members including fivewomen indulging in buying     and selling newborn babies.

Nakodar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sukh Pal Singh said that the accused have been identified as Amarjit Kaur wife of Late  Bhupindar Singh a resident of Galib Kalan village under Sadar Jargon police station in Ludhiana, Reena wife of Kewal Singh a resident of Bhainni Baga village under Sadar Mansa police station ,Kulwindar Kaur alias Manni daughter of Jagsir Singh a resident of Kussa village under Nihal Singh Wala police station Moga ,Gagandeep Kaur wife of Gagan Kumar a resident of Mohalla Sant Nagar ,Moga, Rajni   wife of Manjit Singh a resident of Nigaha Road, Moga, and Baljit Singh son of Shindar Pal Singh a resident of Gholia Khurd village under Nihal Singh Wala police station  

DSP said a social activist had informed the police that the accused has formed a gang which purchase newborn babies from poor families and sell them in lakhs of rupees to rich families.

 

DSP said a case under sections 143(4,5) (trafficking of person),61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS and section 80 of J.J. Act (juvenile justice )2015 was registered against the accused and further investigations are on.
