The Mehat Pur police have booked three persons on the charges of cheating, breach of trust and criminalconspiracy.
Investigating Officer (IO) Kashmir Singh said that the accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh Marok son of Nirmal Singh a resident of Jagraon Road Mehat Pur, his brother Satnam Singh and Swaran Singh son of Najar Singh a resident of Lohgarh village.
Paramjeet Singh a resident of Anga Kirri village has complained Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar (Rural) that the accused in a well-planned conspiracy signed an agreement to sell their land and received Rs 15 Lakhs as advance and showed him land owned by Punjab government adjoining his land but dishonestly registered a sale dead-of land under possession of somebody else on April 10 ,2024 but did not gave possession of land as per sale dead and thus cheated him.
IO said a case under sections 406(breach of trust )420(cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused after an inquiry.
