NAKODAR
The Mehat Pur police have booked eight persons on the charge of assaulting a village and snatching.
Investigating officer (IO) Amrik Lal said that the accused have been identified as Manjit Singh, his brother Sarwann Singh, residents of Chhohle village, and their six accomplices.
Rannjit Singh, a resident of Rai Pur Arian village, complained to the police that the accused attacked him with sharp-edged weapons on July 8 and snatched his gold chain, and injured him, and threatened him with dire consequences.
IO said that a case under sections 115 (2), .118 (1) (voluntarily causing grievous hurt), and 304(snatching) of the BNS has been registered against the accused.
