WAYANAD(Kerala): On the second day of his visit to Wayanad, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday renewed his attack against Narendra Modi, alleging that the Prime Minister is using "poison of hatred" to divide India.

"At the national level, we (Congress leaders) are fighting poison. Mr Narendra Modi uses poison. I am using a strong word but Mr Narendra Modi uses poison of hatred to divide this country. He uses anger and hatred to divide the people of this country," Gandhi said during a roadshow in Kalpetta town of Wayanad.

PM Modi arrives in Kerala’s Thrissur

THRISSUR (Kerala): Clad in a white 'mundu' paired with a half-sleeved shirt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Thrissur on Saturday.

He reached the city by helicopter after he arrived in Kochi in the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

Prime Minister offered prayers at Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur, after which he is expected to address BJP workers for the first time in Kerala after his astounding victory in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Imran Khan writes to Modi, offers to hold talks

ISLAMABAD (Karachi): Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan wrote a letter to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, saying Islamabad wants dialogue with New Delhi to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries, Pakistani media reported.

The letter came a day after New Delhi ruled out the possibility of a bilateral meeting between Khan and Modi on the sidelines of the SCO summit slated to be held later this month in Bishkek.

Congratulating Modi for assuming office for a second term, Khan said that Pakistan wanted talks to resolve all disputes, including Kashmir and other issues like poverty, Geo News reported.

Nationalism is in BJP’s DNA, says Ram Madhav

AGARTALA(Tripula): "Nationalism is in the DNA of BJP," the party's national general secretary Ram Madhav said while predicting that in 2047 when India celebrates the centenary of independence, the country will stand as a "Vishwa Guru".

"Nationalism is in the DNA of BJP, it is BJP's identity. Whether elections are going on or not, BJP means nationalism, nationalism means BJP," Madhav said while addressing a gathering here on Friday.

Mamata writes to PM Modi, says fruitless to attend NITI Ayog Governing Council meet

KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday declined the NITI Aayog's invitation to attend a meeting of its Governing Council to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a letter written to Modi, Banerjee said that NITI Ayog has no financial powers to support the state-run schemes and it is fruitless for her to attend the meeting.

Rahul Gandhi to visit Wayanad today

NEW DELHI: Congress president Rahul Gandhi is slated to visit his Parliamentary constituency Wayanad on Friday afternoon. This will be Gandhi's first visit after he won the seat in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.

He will stay in his constituency till Sunday during which he will meet party workers and citizens. "I will be in Wayanad, Kerala starting this afternoon and till Sunday to meet citizens and Congress Party workers.

Cabinet okays 4-year strategic action plan to set Sustainable Developments goals for Punjab

The Punjab Cabinet led by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday gave in-principle approval for a Four Year Strategic Action Plan (4SAP) – 2019-23 and Annual Action Plan 2019-20 to set Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for the state.

The action plan will also set the key performance parameters for Government officials for their integration into the development process of the state. It was also decided to approve their integration into the State Budgetary process.
