Interstate coordination committee holds meeting in view of arrangements and preparations for Lok Sabha Polls

 The officers of Interstate Coordination Committee on Thursday held a meeting with the various law enforcement agencies in view of Lok Sabha Polls. Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Dr. S Karuna Raju and DGP Punjab Dinkar Gupta took stock of preparations for elections besides holding discussions with the officers from Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh and Jammu & Kashmir.

Three arrested, one booked for brewing, selling illicit liquor

The Bilga police have arrested three persons for selling and brewing illicit liquor. Investigating Officer Harpreet Singh said that1500 litters of hooch and 32000 litters Lahann (raw liquor)  and utensils for brewing were recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Paramjit Singh, Chaman and Surjit Singh all  residents of Bhode village.

The Shahkot police have  arrested a notorious gangster on the charge of possessing an illicit pistol and firing.

Two drug peddlers arrested under NDPS Act

 The Shahkot police have arrested a  drug peddler on the charge of selling heroin  . Investigating officer (IO) and Malsian police post in-charge Sanjivan   Singh  said that 20 grams heroin was    recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Ramandeep Singh alias Raman ,a resident of Patti Haveli,Malsian  village.

Married man booked for murdering 18 years old girl

The Nakodar sadar police have booked a married man on the charge of murdering a 18years old girl.

Station house officer(SHO) Mohammad Jamil said that the accused has been identified as Surjit Singh Dhesi son of Jogindar Singh a resident of Hussaina Bad village. He said that the accused is married.
