Two women among five booked for outraging woman’s modesty

NAKODAR  The Mehatpur police have booked five persons including two women on charges of outraging woman’s modesty, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and using caste  remarks .

Station house officer (SHO)Surindar Kumar  said that the accused have been identified as Sarabjit Kaur,Bachani,Nirmal Singh,Jassa Singh and Surjit Singh all  residents of Pachharrian village.

Baljit Kaur wife of Gurdev Singh a resident of the same village complained to the police that the accused assaulted her and her daughter on May 25 and threatened her and used caste remarks against her .She said that a land dispute is reason behind the attack.

SHO said that a case under sections 323(voluntarily causing hurt) 354-B(assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe )and  506(criminal intimidation)  of the IPC and sections ¾ of the SC/ST Act  has been registered against the accused
