Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO)  said the machine was handed over to the Nakodar office in 2005,after which the rural development and panchayat director issued instructions to the department to make good use of the machine. According to guidelines, “In case operators are available in other government departments, they may be taken on deputation otherwise a private operator may be hired on an hourly basis”. He said that as no operator either on deputation or on contract is available we had sought directions from the government which is awaited.
