Rs 2.50 Lakhs looted in street in front of police station

NAKODAR

In a broad daylight loot, two masked and armed motor cyclists on Monday morning  snatched Rs 2.50 lakhs in a street in front of city  police station.

As per available information two employees of Khusi scanning  centre were coming to a bank to deposit money  on a motor cycle when two motor cycle borne miscreants attacked Abhi Sharma with a sword who was pillion riding near a turn in a street of Guru Teg Bahadar Nagar  in front of Nakodar city police station and snatched a bag containing money and fled away backward  .Abhi was rushed to civil hospital by residents.

 Superintendent of police (investigation ) Rajbir Singh and Deputy superintendent of police(DSP) (HQ) Jalandhar(rural) Surindar Pal Singh, who is holding charge of Nakodar DSP, reached on the spot and discussed law and order situation with local police  .

Increasing incidents of snatching have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning .
