Jalandhar (Rural) Police arrest two including a woman paddler, 1.30 KG of Heroin and drug money recovered

JALANDHAR: Jalandhar (Rural) Police today claimed to have arrested two persons including a woman with the recovery of 1.30 Kilogram of heroin and drug money of more than Rs eight lakh from their possession.

 Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Navjot Singh Mahal today said that Phillaur Police intercepted a woman resident of Mizoram and personal search of her led to the recovery of the drug.

 Revealing further, SSP said that a police party conducted nakabandi at High-tech Naka, Sutlej Bridge, Phillaur and were conducting checking of the vehicles, one woman boarded off from the bus and started walking towards Jalandhar side at high speed.  On suspicion, she was apprehended with the help of Lady Constable Gurmit Kaur and on asking she revealed her identity as C. Lal Chhandami daughter of C. Lal Duhzuala, J-23, Republic Venglai Kaipui, Section 3 Republic Vengial Aizawi, Mizoram, India, SSP said.

 The checking of the brown coloured bag being carried by the apprehended lady on her right shoulder was conducted in the presence of Gurbinder Singh, PPS, Dy. Supdt. of Police/Crime against property, which led to the recovery of One KG of Heroin. 

 In this regard accused was arrested and a case FIR No. 208 dated 09-06-2019 u/s 21 NDPS Act was registered against her in PS Phillaur, district Jalandhar (Rural).  A thorough probe into the matter is being conducted and more revelations are yet to be expected.

 SSP said in another case, a police party at Bhogpur arrested a person identified as Pathankot resident of Phillaur and his personal search led to the recovery of 30 gram of Heroin apart from money of Rs 8,39,250.
