NAKODAR

The Nagar council (NC) has failed to construct a slaughterhouse even after the passage of a resolution in this regard around six years ago. The civic body had adopted a proposal to construct an abattoir on Malsian road after the local self-government department director sought a progress report on the construction of slaughterhouses in all nagar councils. The Punjab and Haryana high court had earlier directed to construct slaughterhouses in the municipal areas of Punjab. When contacted, NC executive officer R.S.Warraich  Singh said a detailed project report of about Rs.`66 lakh was sent to the government and the government has clubbed Nakodar Nagar council with other civic bodies for the  construction of common slaughter  house which is pending .
