RMP activists stage dharna against Shahkot police

SHAHKOT: More than hundred activists of the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) on Wednesday staged a dharna in front of the office of the Shahkot deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in protest against deteriorating law and order situation in Shahkot subdivision.

Addressing a protest rally party leader and president of Dihati Mazdoor Sabha Punjab Darshan Nahar said that drug trade is open and police are not taking any action against drug peddlers and their political masters.

He alleged that illegal sand mining is going on at large scale and demanded action in a case of suicide by Mehat Pur youth Gourav in April month.

Nahar said that the police is not taking any action against miscreants who are harassing girl students of Meinwal Arayian village.

Superintendent of Police(bureau of investigation ) Parmindar Singh Heer reached on the spot and assured a delegation that their grievances will be removed at the earliest.
