Assistant Commissioner felicitates two bright students selected for scholarship under Dr.Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme

JALANDHAR:  Assistant Commissioner (G) Ms. Shayari Malhotra on Tuesday handed over demand drafts worth Rs 20,000 and citation certificates to the two bright students of the district under Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme for Meritorious Students of Senior Secondary School Examination belonging to Schedule Caste (SC) community.


The meritorious girls Ms. Vaishally of Abadpura and Ms. Jyoti of Boota Mandi had bagged this award due to their marvellous performance in the 10th standard exams conducted by state/ Central Boards/ Councils. 

On the basis of their marks, the students were selected by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Social Justice and Employment that implements several welfare
schemes/ programs relating to the welfare of SCs/ STs.

Handing over the demand drafts to both girls, Ms. Malhotra complemented them for this rare feat.  She said that this award was the recognition of hard work and dedication of the students, who had worked hard to excel in the field of academics. 

She asked them to continue this hard work and strive hard for excellence in the future.

Complementing the students and her parents for dreaming big, the Assistant Commissioner said that the district administration was ever ready to help such meritorious and needy students

Wishing the student a successful career ahead, Ms. Malhotra expressed hope that every dream of the young girls would become a reality soon.
