Man arrested for smuggling liquor

NURMAHAL/SHAHKOT /NAKODAR  

 The Nurmahal police have arrested  a man  on the  charge of smuggling  liquor. Investigating Officer Sarup Lal   said that 24   bottles of liquor were seized from possession of the accused identified as Surindar Kumar alias Bittu  a resident of  Pasla village . 

A case under sections 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act was registered against the accused.

The Mehat Pur police booked Buta Singh a resident of Umrewal village and Sandip Singh a resident of Burj Hassan village in Phillaur for brewing illicit liquor and recovered 190 kilograms Lahhann(raw liquor) and 35 bottles of hooch from their hideout, said investigating officer Balwant Singh .

The Shahkot police arrested Malkit Singh Marru a resident of Kotli Gajran village with 9 bottles of hooch and Rajwindar Singh a resident of Baupur village with 24 bottles of hooch, said investigating officers Ranjit Singh and Lakhwindar Singh.
