Five booked for assaulting woman, criminal conspiracy

The Bilga police have booked five persons on the charge of assaulting a woman and criminal conspiracy.

Investigating officer (IO) Baljit  Singh that the accused has been identified as Anwar Hussain alias Pamma,Gurnam Singh alias Joga and Santokh Singh residents of Uppal Bhupa village Manjit Singh and Bhupindar Singh resident of Bilga village .

Harpreet Kaur  a resident of Uppal Bhupa  village complained to the police that the accused barged into her land with intention to encroach it and started ploughing paddy fields and when she opposed their actions sub- inspector Surindar Singh twisted her arms .She said that when she raised alarm Anwar Hussain forcibly threw her on ground and set on her breast and tried to tear cloths and others assaulted her and threatened her with dire consequences .

IO said that a case under sections 323,324(voluntarily causing hurt with weapons) 148 and  149(rioting )and 120-B(criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
