ADC describes tree plantation as a perfect tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji

Initiates plantation drive to commemorate 550th parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji

 Karari (Jalandhar): Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, who was currently officiating as Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar, today said that planting a tree and ensuring its maintenance would be a perfect tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji on their 550th parkash Purab.

Addressing the gathering after planting samplings at Government Senior Secondary School Karari, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings were significant for us as they very close to environment. He said that the real tribute to the great Guru would be that each one of us plant a tree and ensure its maintenance so as enhance the green cover on one hand and check the environmental pollution on the other. Kulwant Singh said that this would be a real and befitting tribute to  Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that on its part the district administration was planting minimum 550 saplings in each village across the Jalandhar. He said that the saplings would be planted with the special care so that each plant would have enough space for its growth. Kulwant Singh further said that Nanak Bagichis were being set up on specific places across the district in which variety of plants especially the medicinal plants and herbs were being planted.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner said that the plants in Nanak Bagichis will be taken care of three years in row to ensure that the plants survive and grow into big trees. He further  said that the work on plantation of 550 saplings in each village was underway. Kulwant Singh called upon the students to participate in this campaign in a big way to make it a huge success.

On the occasion  BDPO Ms. Sukhbir Kaur, Assistant Nodal Officer  DAPO Surjit Lal, Principal of School Harbansh Lal and others were also present.
