Mansa soon to get newly revamped water works park complete with open air theatre, open gym, fountains, green landscape and music, Apneet Riyait

Park coming up at 33 acres of waterworks land

 

 MANSA: Reiterating Punjab government's commitment towards caring for the overall holistic development of the people of state, Mansa district administration is all set to gift a new recreational park complete with the facilities of open air theatre, open gym, fountains, green landscape, CCTV cameras, civic amenities and music.

 

Sharing this information Deputy Commissioner Mrs Apneet Riyait stated that after starting 3D project for making Mansa clean and beautiful, the district administration was now working on construction of water works park located on Gaushala Road spread in sprawling 33 acres of land.

 

 

She added that work in 90 percent of the area has been done. The project will soon be completed and dedicated to the people of Mansa. Mansa lacked any such space wherein the city residents could unwind themselves after hectic work schedule. The park has the best of greenery and serene environment coupled with the best of facilities.

        

    

Earlier the path leading inside park was mere 8 feet wide, which has been widened to 20 feet. The park's energy demands will be met using power generated from solar panels installed at the park. She added that jet fountains are also being installed in the park wherein the jet fountain water go as high as 50 to 60 feet. Besides this a separate children play zone has been developed. An open air theatre has also been developed to meet with the cultural demands of people. Any kind of play, skit or cultural event can be hosted at this open air theatre.

 

Rain dance fixtures have also been installed with music system creating rain effect.  Also special arrangements have been made for developing sports in the area. A swimming pool, badminton, basketball courts and open gym is being developed to ensure good health for the people of Mansa. She added that to ensure security of women and children, CCTV cameras are being installed at various points in the park. Besides this security guards are also being stationed to ensure peace at the park.

 

 

She added that in order to ensure proper maintenance of park, a Park Management Committee (PMC) will also be constituted that will consist of the officers from district administration and city residents.

On the backside of open air theatre, a small museum is being developed that will give peek into old culture of Punjab. It will have hutment of old times made from clay and mud. Besides this music system has been installed to provide soulful music to the ears of morning and evening walkers.

 

 

To make park lush green, around more 3000 saplings are being planted. Flowers and climbers have been planted in such a way that they give impression of a person passing from a tunnel of flowers. I Love Mansa logo has also been installed at the park. The area will also double up as perfect space for yoga and meditation. Two canopies have been put up for senior citizens under which they can rest after tiresome session of walk and exercise. Also dustbins have been installed at various places.
