Sports department to organize swimming tournaments to commemorate 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji

JALANDHAR: District Sports Officer Balwinder Singh today said that Sports department would organize under-14 and under-18 Swimming tournaments for girls and boys next month to commemorate 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

The District Sports Officer who reviewed the arrangements for the mega event today at the Swimming Pool in Sports college said that the tournament being organized under Tandarust Punjab Mission would be a befitting tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. He said that the entire arrangements for this event would be finalized soon so as to ensure that it emerges as a biggest sporting extravaganza. Balwinder Singh said that girls and boys in the age group of under 14 and under 18 would vie in this tournament.

The District Sports Officer said that the registration for this event would be made online adding that the modalities regarding it would be finalized in coming days. He asked the players to participate in this mega swimming competition in a big way as a perfect tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Balwinder Singh said that every arrangement would be made to facilitate the players participating in this competition.

On the occasion Swimming Coach Umesh Sharma briefed the District Sports Officer about ongoing activities at the swimming pool.
