Anti Larva Teams detect 44 cases of Dengue Larva in the city

JALANDHARContinuing its special drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ against the vector-borne diseases, the anti-larva cell of the health department on Friday detected 44 dengue larva cases in 11 localities in the city.

Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Kulwinder Singh, Pawan Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Sher Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Gurvinder Singh, Amit Kumar, Sarbjit Singh, Kamaldeep and Sanjiv Kumar carried out checking in  Gandhi Camp, Basti Bawa Khel, Avtar Nagar, Ravinder Nagar, Chogitti, Indira Colony, Bhargo Camp, Garha and Baba Deep Singh Nagar. 
 
During the checking, the teams visited 793 houses, checked 906 waste containers, 325 desert coolers and conducted spray in 671 rooms. 
 
The teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes. 
 
They said that the special inspection was a part of the drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab’s mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
