Firing on farmer, no break through even after twelve weeks

NAKODAR

 The Nakodar sadar police have failed to make any breakthrough in a case of firing on a farmer even more than twelve weeks after the crime .

Lakhbir Singh (48) a resident of Littran village had complained to the police that he is farmer and 25 labourers work at his farm situated on Nakodar-Nurmahal road near railway crossing and he has employed three women residents of Nawan Pind Shonkian village for preparing food and doing other house hold work. He said that he picks them from their village daily and on December 27 he left his farm house in his car (PB-08-Q-2385) and when he reached on the Nakodar-Nurmahal road around 6.55 A.M he saw two young men standing on the road with covered faces. He said that one youth signalled him to stop and when he opened door youth asked about migrant  labourer Balraj ‘s where about and he told him that he does not know anything  adding that second youth also reached near him and first youth sprinkled chilli powder in his eyes from a pouch  and he suddenly backed himself  and second youth fired at him with intention to kill him witch pieced his right hand .He said that he reversed his car and raised an alarm and the accused fled towards Nurmahal side.

Station house officer Sikandar Singh Virk   said a case under  sections 307(attempt to murder) and 34(committing crime with common intention)   and section 25 of the Arms Act was registered against unidentified accused  and further investigations are on.
