CT Group holds expert talk on Cyber Safety, Security & Ethical Hacking

JALANDHAR: Ravi Kumar, ASP State Cyber Cell, IPS 16 batch, Punjab cadre delivered a session on Cyber Safety, Security and Ethical Hacking” at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur campus. The guest of the day discussed various issues that included using free Open Source tools and techniques to make daily life richer and easier. The lecture also included serious talks about real-life scenarios like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Google advance operators etc.

IPS Kumar discussed real-life threats including spy cameras and apps, APKs, phishing and unsecured pages etc. He also suggested effective counter-measures for more than 25 online threats.  

While addressing the students, Kumar said, "Every minute step taken adds to your social safety. We are available for your any kind of relevant query if you visit 'cyber-cops.com', our team is happy to serve that. Follow minor things for example regularly updating your antivirus, make your browser safe, never download anything except your mobile store, apps permission has to be minimised. Each and every detail for such safety is explained on the official website." He later highlighted various legal aspects including actions and corresponding legal sections, remedies under different laws and government initiatives.

Manbir Singh, Managing Director CT Group said, “Today most of the people are on social networking sites whereas they do not know the real thing behind the privacy issues involved. Such lectures display the real picture of the things behind the hyped social world.”

Campus Director Dr GS Kalra thanked the expert for sharing valuable tips with the students and staff members.
