Near total bandh in Nakodar ,Shahkot,Nurmahal

NAKODAR/SHAHKOT/NURMAHAL The Punjab bandh was near total in Nakodar,Shahkot sub divisions and Nurmahal sub tehsil  with  majority of the shops and other business establishments remained closed. All schools and colleges and other educational institutes were closed by the administration.

 However government offices, banks, chemists’ shops and petrol pumps were open.
The bandh call was given by the Ravidas community to protest the Supreme Court-ordered demolition of a 500-year-old Guru Ravidas temple in Delhi on Saturday.

 Protests and dharnas were held at various places by Ravidas community members and Bahujan Samaj Party leader were seen in organising dharnas .

Vehicular movement on state roads and links roads remained suspended after protestors blocked these.
