SAD gives tactic support to BJP, let Harsimrat Kaur Badal resign from union cabinet in protest

Chandigarh: Sukhpal Singh Khaira Bholath MLA and president of Punjab Ekta Party (PEP) today lashed out at Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) for failing to protect interests of minority communities and Dalits being targeted repeatedly by BJP led centre government in which SAD is an alliance partner.

In a statement issued here, Khaira said that demolition of historic Sri Guru Ravidas Temple in Delhi was the latest example of the anti-minority and anti-Dalit stance of Modi government. He said that in all BJP rules states minority communities were threatened and their human rights are violated. He said that a Sikh Gurdwara was demolished in BJP ruled Sikkim state and Dalit Sikhs living in Shillong in Assam were being forced to vacate the area where they are living for about a century.

Khaira said that in the Delhi Development Authority directly controlled by BJP government had demolished the Guru Ravidas temple without caring for the sentiments of billions of disciples of Guru Ravidas Ji. He asked Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to resign in protest if he and her husband have a real concern for the Guru Ravidas sect. He said that SAD president Sukhbir Badal has no courage to annoy BJP leaders due to his business interests.

MLA’s said that not only Guru Ravidas sect but the whole Sikh community is agitated over the action of the DDA and demanded to restore the temple at the same place. The DDA is headed by Anil Baijal Delhi’s Lt Governor and blue eyes boy of Prime Minister Narender Modi. He said that on one side BJP has made the construction of Ram Temple its political agenda and on the other hand they are demolishing the places of worship belonging to other communities.

Khaira said that his party stood by Ravidasia community and for that matter with all communities and sections of society being victimized in the name of caste, religion and regionalism. He said that PEP would fight to defeat the RSS agenda of creating hatred between different communities to meet their vested interests.
