After issuing Rs 18 crore for renovation of public schools in Bathinda city, about Rs 4 crore has now been released for civil hospital.

Civil hospital renovations will begin from the first week of September

No dearth of funds for overall development of city: reiterates  Manpreet Badal

 BATHINDA: After the state government has issued a grant of Rs. 18 crore for the improvement of various government schools here for the overall development of the city of Bathinda now, the Finance Minister of Punjab, Manpreet Badal, today announced to release about Rs.4 crore for the renovation of Civil Hospital Bathinda. He reiterated that there is no dearth of funds for the overall development of the city.  During an interaction with the press, the Finance Minister reiterated that every effort would be made for the development of the city.  Manpreet said that his main agenda is to further improve the education and health system in the city.

         

The Finance Minister said that the renovation work of the Civil Hospital would be started in the first week of the September, which will be completed in about 6 to 9 months.

         

 Divulging more details about the renovation project in the Civil Hospital, the minister stated that the tenders would be sought for renovation of Bathinda Government Hospital building on August 19. He also pointed out that entire renovation work of the hospital would be completed on time.

         

Throwing light upon the works being done under the fresh grant, the minister said that construction of a new mortuary will be constructed in the civil hospital at the cost of Rs Rs.45.20 lakh, OPD block will be renovated and new lift will be installed and the entire building will also be painted for which an amount of Rs. 49.35 lakh would be spent. All internal roads too would be renovated and fencing of the building will also be done at a cost of Rs 57.37 lakhs.  

         

There will also be a provision of shifting of OT (Operation Theater) to top floor, at present the OT is situated at the ground floor. Changing of floor will help in reducing the number of outsiders into the OT.  

         

Also an amount of Rs 71.73 lakhs would be spent for the renovation of old and new Women and Children Hospital (Maternal and Child healthcare). Under these freshly issued grant the entire hospital building would also be painted.
