Anti larva teams detect 34 cases of dengue larva

JALANDHAR: The anti-larva cell of the health department on Wednesday detected 34 dengue larva cases in various places of the city during its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandarust Punjab Mission.

Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by  Balwinderjeet Singh, Amarjeet Singh, Pardeep Kumar, Amit Kumar, Sukhjinder Singh, Sher Singh, Pawan Kumar, Kamaldeep, Jaswinder Singh, Vinod Kumar,  Sarbjeet,  Amit Kumar,  Raj Kumar, and Satpal carried out special checking in Neelamahal, Rattan Nagar, Basti Guzan, Industrial Area, Basti Sheikh, Guru Nanak Pura, Madhuban Colony, Jaswant Nagar and Guru Gobind Singh Stadium.

 

The teams visited 451 houses covered the population of 1894 and checked 186 desert coolers and 452 waste containers. 

The teams’ members told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.

 They said that the special inspection was a part of the drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab’s mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
