Independence Day Celebrated at Khalsa Institutions, Guru Teg Bahadur College

AMRITSAR: The staff and students at historic Khalsa College, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur College for Women, Khalsa College Public School (KCPS) and Khalsa College Public School (Heir) celebrated the 73rd Independence Day with fervour as the national flag was hoisted and martyrs were remembered. The tri-colour was hoisted at Guru Teg Bahadur College by Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina in presence of Principal Nanak Singh. Principals including Dr. Mehal Singh, AS Gill and Gurjit Singh Sethi hoisted the flags at their respective institution amidst the rendition of National Anthem. 

 

Chhina while addressing gathering of faculty members and students spoke about uniqueness and richness of India’s history and culture and appreciated the efforts of students for celebrating the day with great enthusiasm. A number of performances were displayed by the students who wearing the colorful dresses celebrated the cultural diversity of India. Teachers and students conveyed the important message of patriotism and national spirit through role plays, poetry recitals, dance and rendering of songs. 

 

The students took a pledge to make their country free from poverty, terrorism, casteism and the vicious web of corruption.
