2.91 Lakh families in district to get cashless treatment upto Rs 5 Lakh from Aug 20

State government to launch Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Beema Yojna for imparting quality health services to people 

 JALANDHAR: In a major initiative aimed at imparting quality health services to the people the state government would launch the Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Beema Yojna on August 20 after which 2.91 lakh families of the district would be entitled for cashless treatment upto Rs 5 lakh in various empanelled hospitals.

Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would launch this pro-people scheme on August 20. He said that under this scheme e-cards would be issued to the beneficiaries for cashless treatment under 1396 packages. Sharma said that treatment under OPD would not be included under this scheme but secondary and tertiary treatment would be fully covered under it.

The Deputy Commissioner said that under this scheme pre-existing diseases would also be covered. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) families as per Socio-Economic Caste Census (2011), Blue Cardholder families, farmers who have been issued J-Forms by Punjab Mandi Board and their family members, traders registered with  Excise and Taxation Department and construction workers registered with the construction worker’s welfare board were eligible for benefits under the scheme. Sharma said that the eligible beneficiaries could get their e-card generated through a network of 100 Common Service Centres across the district at a cost of Rs 30.

The Deputy Commissioner said that apart from it they could also get it generated through the government hospitals in the district. Sharma said that the health department has already been directed to ensure hassle-free issuance of e-Cards to all eligible beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. Sharma said that till yet the private hospitals that have been empanelled under the scheme were Mahajan Eye Hospital and  Maternity Home, Aastha Hospital, Third Eye hospital, Arora Eye Hospital and Retina Centre, Goel Kidney Care, ALTIS Multispeciality hospital, Oxford Hospital Pvt ltd, HP Orthocare hospital, Akal Eye Hospital, Satyam Hospital & Trauma centre, Vasal Hospital Pvt Ltd, Sangha Eye hospital, Mann Mediciti hospital, Shakuntala Devi Vig hospital, Central hospital & Maternity home, Capitol hospital, Vedanta Multispecialty hospital, Duggal Eye hospital, Apex hospital & Maternity Home and PMG Children hospital.
