Education Department organizes speech, essay writing and quiz competitions to mark 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Jalandhar: To commemorate the 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, The Education Department organized a speech, essay writing and quiz competitions in which the students from various government schools participated.

Divulging the details, the District Education Officer (Secondary) Harinder Pal Singh said that the main aim behind organizing the competitions was to perpetuate the life and philosophy of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji amongst youths. He said the motive of the competitions was to encourage the youths to follow the path shown by Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and remain attached with the traditions. Harinder Pal Singh said that the department was laying major thrust on making the students an integral part of the mega celebrations to celebrate 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. 

The District Education Officer said that after the competitions, the students were exhorted to follow Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings in their lives. He further said that the department would also organize more competitions like painting and others to make the students abreast of the teachings and life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
