ADHARV  2k19 -  a platform for the new entrants to showcase their talents

JALANDHAR: Annual Talent Hunt ADHARV 2k19 was organised with great zeal and enthusiasm on 23rd August 2019 here at DAVIET. The talent hunt is organized every year to unearth the talent of the first-year students and to provide them with a platform to come into the limelight. ADHARV 2k19 was marked by the enthusiasm of the first-year students to make their presence felt but at the same time, it also stood for the desire on the part of the organizing students to provide their juniors with the much-needed exposure to show how healthy competition can propel an individual to learn varied things.  Students competed and tried to outperform each other in a wide variety of cultural, technical, musical, literary and theatrical events organized by the various clubs of the Institution.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET applauded the zest and the zeal of the students to give their best in all the events. Addressing the students, he stated that over the years DAVIET has been able to make its mark in academics and extracurricular activities because of the commitment to never compromise on hard work, dedication and perseverance. He further stressed that due to the sheer number of achievements made by the students and the alumni, DAVIET has become a brand name in the field of technical education. He appreciated the hard work put in by the organizing committee and wished them luck in all their endeavours.

Jasdeep Kaur Johal, Cultural Officer highlighted the fact that in DAVIET students are always at the forefront of each and every activity. She showed her indebtedness to Dr. Manoj Kumar for his visionary leadership and ever available guidance.  She stated that in competition it is not winning that matters but participating with the right attitude that counts.  Elaborating the various events that were organized during the talent hunt, Johal stated that all the events are being organized by the existing 9 clubs of the Institutions.  While sharing the details, she highlighted that Arteso- the Fine Arts Club of the Institution organized the events of Sketching, Poem Writing, On the Spot Painting, Collage making, Card Making and Cartooning, Alfaaz – the Writing Club of the Institution organised Creative writing events, Ashwa—the Western Dance Club of the Institution organized  Western Solo and Western Group Dance, Strings and Sargam—the Music Club of the Institution organized the events of Vocals and the Rap Battle,  Dhamak- the Folk Dance Club of the Institution organized the events of  Folk, Classical and Indian Dance,  Kalakaar The Theatre Club of the Institution,  organized Stand Up Comedy, Monoacting, and Skit, Pragyaan the Quiz club organized the quiz, Clicker the Photography Club of the Institution organized the events of photography, Videography and Photo Manipulation, Wordsmiths- the Public Speaking club of the Institution organized the events of Elocution and Group Discussion.

First-year students participated in around 30 events. The convention hall was a buzz with excitement as the students gave their best to outdo each other in a healthy environment.
