NAWANSHAHR: Senior Congress leader and Sri Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari today alleged that the Bhartiya Janata Party led National Democratic Alliance government at the centre was trying to undermine the legacy of Dr Baba Sahab Bhim Rao Ambedkar by fiddling with the constitution.

Addressing a public meeting here today, Tewari said that the BJP was imposing the hidden agenda of the BJP that was quite contrary to the idea of India as envisaged by the leaders like Dr Ambedkar.

He said, Dr Ambedkar gave the country one of the best constitutions in the world which is recognized and acknowledged by everyone as it watched and took care of each and every person living in the country irrespective of his caste, creed, colour or religion. “However now the BJP was trying to replace the same constitution and impose its own”, he claimed.

Tewari warned that the Congress party and other secular forces in the country will never ever allow such thing to happen. “India belongs to each and every Indian as everyone has given his blood and sweat to this country”, he said, while adding, the diversity is the strength of this nation and it will be preserved at all costs.

Among those present on the occasion included Satvir Singh pallijhikki,, Tarlochan SoondEx MLA , Mohan Singh EX MLA,Makliat Singh Bahrowal, Dr Bakhshish singh, Rajinder Thekedar, Daravjeet Singh Poonia, Raghvir Singh Billa,  Kamaljit  Banga member Zila Parsad , Lalli Gadani, Amandeep Singh and Sokhi Ram Bajjon.
