Boats of administration pour relief to distressed people in flood ravaged villages

Distributes  750 food packets containing flour, sugar, water, milk powder, salt, masala door to door  in three days

 JALANDHAR- As a part of the firm commitment of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to help the flood ravaged villages in the district in this hour of crisis, the district administration has distributed 750 food packets including 10-kg flour, water bottles, one-kg sugar, one-kg salt, 250-gm tea, three types of masalas and packets of milk powder. 

 
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma these 750 food packets were distributed through boats door to door from August 22 till today. 
 
He said that earlier, the 18000 food packets were airdropped by Army helicopters. 
 
The deputy commissioner also said that till today, 18000-litre water, 1260 litre milk, 1200 tarpaulins has been sent to the flood-affected people through boats. 
 
He said that Punjab government was fully with the calamity stricken people of these villages and the administration would extend full help to them in this hour of crisis. 
 
He said that the district administration is leaving no stone unturned to accomplish this robust task at the earliest in providing much needed succor to the victims of this disastrous calamity. 
 
Sharma said that the administration has already set the wheels of government machinery in motion to help the flood ravaged villages through every possible mean and measure.
