Teachers’ day celebration at GGDSD college, Kheri Gurna (Banur)

CHANDIGARH: GGDSD College, Kheri Gurna celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5th, 2019 with great fervour and enthusiasm. Debate and Declamation were held to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. College principal Dr. Sunil K. Baria conveyed his heartiest greetings to all the teachers and honoured them for their remarkable contribution in shaping the future of the nation.

Dr. Ankita Gupta commenced the event by bringing forth the importance of teachers and their role in nation building. The debate and declamation competitions were highly informative and thought provoking. Twelve students of B.Com. , B.B.A. and B.A. participated actively in this event. The participants spoke on a galore of topics given to them. Declamation on the topic "make in India Vs make for India and debate on the topic “What should be the priority of India in the 21st century: job or entrepreneurship got an overwhelming response from the students. Dr. Kiran Dutt and Prof. N.P. Manocha also participated in this event and judged the competition along with Dr. Meenakshi Negi and Dr. Maninder Kaur.

Shubham won first prize, Mahima won 2nd prize and Dhruv got 3rd prize in debate, in Declamation Shikha got 1st prize and Ayush won 2nd prize and Vishali bagged 3rd prize. All the winners were given books as a token of appreciation. The day came to a close with a lot of education and encouragement. This event was coordinated by Dr. Ankita Gupta and Dr. Sugandha Chhiber.
