CT University organises 2-day Int’l Conference IMARC 2019

Future poses serious challenges for teaching in academic institution & doing research: Dr. Abdul from Primeasia University

07 keynote speakers, more than 150 presenters, 04 workshops under one roof

 Ludhiana: CT University organised a two day International Multidisciplinary Academic Research Conference (IMARC 2019) at its campus. The conference covered all the disciplines of Engineering, Management, Architecture, Law, Pharmacy, Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Design, Humanities, and Media etc. 

The proceeding booklet and CD was unveiled by CTU Chancellor Charanjit Singh Channi, Managing Director Manbir Singh, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Vice-Chancellor Dr Harsh Sadawarti and all the keynote speakers with session chairing academicians and workshop speakers.

During the conference, speakers from worldwide contributed their inputs for academics and research. More than 400 papers were received and around 150 presenters presented their papers. The keynote speakers were Dr. Chithirai Pon Selvan from Curtin University, Dubai; Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, Primeasia University, Bangladesh; Dr. Ravindhar Vadapalli from FinTech, United Arab Emirates, Ahsanul Haq, President Jalandhar Management Association; Vinod K. Pandita, Founder & CEO Perception Management Consulting Pvt. Ltd, Gurgaon; Rizwan A Thakur, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia and Prof. Dr. David Asirvatham Executive Dean, Faculty of Innovation and Technology Taylor's University, Malaysia.

While addressing the gathering, Dr. Chithirai Pon Selvan from Curtin University, Dubai focussed on waterjet technologies, conventional machining processes and said, “This technology is an edge-cutting technology and we develop models with an approach of saving water. Various experiments were conducted in varying the traverse speed, abrasive flow rate, standoff distance and water pressure. The future can be water-friendly and CTU students can collaborate with us for internships as well.”  

Another speaker Prof. Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice-Chancellor, Primeasia University, Bangladesh said, “Higher education has arrived a period or profound transition driven by globalization, technology, demographics and pressing social demand. It is very important to understand the challenges, opportunities, potential risks and rewards associated with this transition. In the light of recent developments, I think future poses serious challenges for teaching in the academic institution, doing research, pioneering innovation and service. Academic institutions must go beyond their boundaries to enhance knowledge exchange and knowledge sharing opportunities to create a better world.”

Students from various domains attended the workshops in two sessions. On the second day, the valedictory ceremony took place along with awards for best paper.

Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-Chancellor CT University said, “Through this conference, CTU upholds its Mission and Vision, namely: commitment, scholarly excellence to the Global communities. The broad aim of IMARC 2019 was to provide an international platform for academicians, researchers, scientists, scholars, industrialists, business professionals, social workers and people worldwide. It was a great platform to exchange ideas on how to apply global best practices in emerging opportunities.”
