Jalandhar (Rural) Police arrest two narcotic smugglers in Goraya with 3 Kg 600 Gm of Opium

Jalandhar: Rural Police arrested two alleged narcotic smugglers with a huge quantity of opium  substance in Goraya district of Jalandhar.


Karamjit Singh of Nizzar village and Gurpreet Singh of Chungh  were arrested after the recovery of 3 Kg 600 grams of opium from their vehicle during checking at National Highway adjacent village Kutbewal Wednesday evening, Police said.


During the preliminary investigation, the owner of the vehicle  Karamjit Singh revealed that they use to smuggle opium from Jharkhand and further supply the same in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Barnala & Amritsar. 


They further revealed that they are in this business for one year.  A deep probe into the matter is being conducted and more revelations are yet to be expected.  The remand of the accused will be obtained and they will be thoroughly investigated.

A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the arrested smugglers.
