Woman residing in England booked for cheating by personation

NAKODAR The Nakodar sadar police have booked a woman residing in England for obtaining a passport by personation.

Investigating officer (IO) Gurdev Singh said that the accused has been identified as Rajdeep kaur daughter of Ram Kishan a resident of Ram Garh village in Phillaur.

Sukhdeep Kaur a resident of Ram Garh village in Phillaur had complained to the Punjab State Commission for NRIS against her in-laws including sister in-law Rajdeep Kaur .The commission directed DSP Phillaur for further inquiry and SHO Phillaur conducted inquiry and found that Rajdeep Kaur procured a passport on name of Sandip Kaur her cousin and a resident of Dhaliwal village under Nakodar sadar police station .He concluded that Nakodar police should registered a case and inquire further.

District attorney (DA) said in his opinion that complainant Sukhdeep Kaur has mentioned in her statement that the photographs placed on the record supplied by   Passport Office Jalandhar are not of Sandeep Kaur but that of Rajdeep Kaur.

DA said that during inquiry Sandeep Kaur made statement that so far no passport in her name has been issued in her name and she has applied for the passport from the address of her matrimonial home and said passport has not been received by her till date. He recommended registration of a case against Rajdeep kaur.

IO said SSP directed to registered a case at Nakodar sadar police station and a case under sections 419(cheating by personation) 420(cheating) 177(furnishing false information) of the IPC and section 12 of Passport Act 1967 has been registered against the accused.
