NURMAHALIn the year 2006 police station Nurmahal was in a private building. People of the town took initiative and donated six kanals 18 marlas land belonging to Patti of the town and spent Rs. 25.00 lakh for the construction of the building for police station Nurmahal. However, government authorities took no further action to complete the building. The 6 kanals and 14 marlas land stand mutated in the name of common owners.

As a result, even after the lapse of 13 years, the police department could not give last touches to the building because the land could not be mutated in favour of the police department.

Nurmahal Nagar Council in its meeting held on 11-06-2012 passed a unanimous resolution number 40 for transferring 6 kanals 18 marlas land to the police department for the construction of the building for Nurmahal police station which has been rejected by director local government.

Residents repeatedly urged the then   Chief Minister P.S.Badal and Chief minister Captain Amrindar Singh to give approval to the resolution so that mutation of land is sanctioned in favour of Punjab Police for completing the building of the police station, but of no avail.

Nurmahal station house officer Hardip Singh Maan said that construction of barracks for cops, boundary wall, flooring and parking space for impounded vehicles are needed. He said that the issue of the building is in the notice of senior officers.
