NAKODAR Mehat Pur shop keepers association on Thursday closed their shops for three hours from 9A.M to 12A.M in protest against hooliganism on the eve of bandhs and in support of demand to register a case against those elements that are posting videos on social media instigating society and   spreading hatred against other religions by using derogatory language.

After closing shops they marched in bazaars and staged a dharna in a chowk and held a rally.

Addressing a protest rally shop keeper’s  leaders said that during bandhs outsiders come with weapons and forcibly close shops and even damage them  and try to divide shopkeepers which is highly condemnable. They said that they have closed their business to express their anguish against such trend and now it is turn of administration to take action against such elements.

SP (hqrs) Ravidar Pal Singh reached Mehat Pur and pacified shopkeepers and held a discussion with their representatives.

Heavy police arrangements were made on the occasion    .
