Lohian Khas shop keepers observe one hour strike against hooliganism

LOHIAN KHAS Lohian khas shop keepers on Monday closed their shops for one hour from 9 A.M to 10 A.M.in protest against hooliganism on the eve of bandhs .

After closing shops are shop keepers all assembled in Shri Gita Bhawan to participate in protest rally.

Addressing protest rally Lohian Vapar Mandal president Avtar Singh said that bandhs are causing huge losses to them. Anti social elements use force to close shops during bandhs and use abusive language adding that outsider hooligans create terror brandishing sharp edged weapons and indulging in acts of ransacking shops.

President said that shop keepers will not tolerate such coercion and want concrete solution of this problem.

Avtar Singh said that if anybody wants to give call for bandh he should meet Lohian Vapar Mandal two days before call date and if Mandal agrees with call for bandh only then shop keepers will close their business.

He demanded that police patrolling should be increased.

Shahkot sub divisional magistrate Doctor Charumitta and deputy superintendent of police Piara Singh reached on the spot and pacified shopkeepers and received their memorandum.
