Job fair proves boon for unemployed youth as 827 shortlisted for jobs at CT Institute

DC describes it as a red-letter day for the youth successful in getting the jobs

 

 JALANDHAR: The job mela organized by the district administration under the state government’s ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar’ scheme today at the Shahpur campus of the CT Institute, proved a boon for 827 unemployed youths who were selected for the jobs during the fair.

The camp was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma, in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and Chairman of the CT Group Charanjit Singh Channi. During the job fair organized by the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise 1683 applicants had applied for the jobs. Out of these 827 applicants were offered jobs whereas 232 more youth were shortlisted for the jobs by the 49 leading companies. 

The Deputy Commissioner who had detailed interaction with the job aspirants said that it was a ‘Red Letter Day’ for the unemployed youth, who would be selected for the jobs. He said that the youth were going to start a new inning in their lives adding it was just a beginning the marvelous success story which all of them were going to script in the future. Sharma said that this flagship program of the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s aims at ensuring job for every unemployed youth.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that five more such job fairs would be organized in the district in coming days to offer employment opportunities to the youth. He said that district administration was already on task of roping in key Industrial Units and leading entrepreneurs to provide job to the youth. They further said that the ‘Ghar Ghar Rozgar’ scheme of the Captain government was all set to transform the destiny of the youth of state by providing job opportunities to them.

 
 

On the occasion Deputy Director Employment Generation and Training Mrs. Sunita Kalyan, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr. MPS Bangar, District Education Officer Harvinder Pal Singh, Managing Directors of CT Group Manbir Singh and Harpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and others were also present.
