DC, CP, MC commissioner and SSP embarks massive cleanliness drive in city to mark 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji

Exhort people to provide fulsome support and cooperation in this noble cause

 JALANDHAR: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Diperva Lakra and Senior Superintendent of Police Navjot Singh Mahal today embarked a massive cleanliness drive in the city to commemorate 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Launching the drive from the local Police lines, the Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police, Commissioner MCJ and SSP said that the drive was a humble and befitting tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji on his parkash purab. He said that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji showed the path love, compassion and harmony to the entire humanity. They said that the campaign was aimed at sensitizing the people towards the need for making our city clean, green and pollution free. 

The officers said that the campaign assumes a lot of significance as this program was aimed at awakening the people about cleanliness of their surrounding areas. They said that the drive would be a real tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji who was a nature lover and laid the foundation of protecting air, water, biodiversity and forests through his teachings. They called upon the people to be a part of this campaign as no such effort could be successful without active support and cooperation of people. 

The Deputy Commissioner, Commissioner of Police, MC Commissioner and SSP said that this drive would continue in other parts of the city also so as to ensure that people were sensitized on the issue of cleanliness and greenery. They also said that every effort would be made to make this campaign a mass movement.

On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun Saini, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate Paramvir Singh, Joint Commissioner MC Aashika Jain and others were also present.
