NURMAHAL The Unique Identification Authority of India has restored Aadhar enrolment centre at Nurmahal Sewa Kendra after intervention of the Prime Minister Office.

Sewa Kendra employees on Friday told the Punjabtribune.com that Aadhar enrolment centre has started working from the last fortnight. Centre was suspended in April 2019.

The Prime Minister office had forwarded Nurmahal and adjoining villages residents complaint for opening Aadhar enrolment centre here to regional office of the Unique Identification Authority of India in Chandigarh

Aggrieved residents of Nurmahal town and adjoining villages had approached the Prime Minister office on August 2 for opening Aadhar enrolment centre.

Dilbag Singh a social activist and a resident of Baina Pur village in an email message to PMO had said that there is no Aadhar enrolment centre in Nurmahal which is a sub tehsil and historic town.

Message said that since Aadhar is mandatory every where residents face many problems for new Aadhar cards and upgrading these.

They go to Nakodar town 15 kilometres away or to Bilga village 12 kilometres away for Aadhar related works.
