Poster making competition organized to promote nutritious diet

JALANDHAR: In a bid to create awareness amongst the girls students about intake of nutrition diet, a

‌poster making ‌ competition was organized by the district administration under Poshan Abhiyaan.The competition was held at Govt Polytechnic College For Girls on Ladowali road.

More than 100 students from the various classes took part. 

 

A spokesperson said that the purpose of holding the event was to ensure consumption of nutritious and healthy diet by the girls to protect them from anemia and malnutrition. 

He also said that the girls were educated about intake of nutritious diet like green vegetables, fruits, pulses, yogurt, milk, and cheese regularly for a sound body.  

 

He told that Poshan Abhiyan was aimed at achieving improvement in the nutritional status of children from 0-6 years, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers.

 

 He told that under Poshan Abhiyan, the teams of the Social Security, Women and Child Development Department, Skill Development Department, Rural Development and Panchayat Department, Local Government Department, Youth Services Department, Education Department, Agriculture Department, Health and Family Welfare Department and Water Supply and Sanitation Department were spreading the message of this prestigious drive in every nook and corner of the district to make Jalandhar a healthy district.
