Villages performing best in various activities to be conferred cash prizes

Every 15 days evaluation of contest to be done

Special prize for youth club that will prevent burning of paddy stubble

 MANSA: Youth Services Department and Nehru Yuva Kendra Mansa is holding My Village, My Pride contest from Oct 1 to Dec 20 dedicated to the National Youth Day 2020 wherein various youth clubs of the district will be participating. In order to ensure community participation in preventing burning of paddy stubble, the district administration will especially honor youth club that will prevent stubble burning in the entire village.

Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mrs Apneet Riyait stated while presiding over a meeting held in this context today. A pre event workshop will be held on Oct 25 wherein all the concerned departments will be told about their defined roles in successfully implementing the entire program. Participants will be given different tasks to perform and each task will carry certain marks. These activities and marks will be evaluated after every 15 days, The best performing clubs will be honored with cash prizes. Besides, this the district administration will give cash award to those village clubs that will prevent burning of paddy stubble in entire village.

Deputy Commissioner added that the activities include cleaning the villages, anti drug campaign, plantation and tending the existing plantation, blood donation, morning walk, not burning paddy stubble, saving water, maintaining schools, participation of females, putting reflectors on animals, holding camps for health, agriculture or making any kind of new efforts for villages. Those excelling in these areas will be honored with certificate and cash prizes.

Assistant Director Youth Services Raghbir Singh Mann,  assistant civil surgeon Dr Sukhwinder Singh, District Program Officer Mrs Avinash Kaur Walia, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Gurmail SIngh, coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra Sarabjit Singh Bedi, managing office Nehru Yuva Kendra Sandeep Ghand, coordinator MNREGA Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Dr Chamandeep Singh, Shri Shamsher SIngh, Sangramjeet SIngh and others were  also present.
