Two unidentified booked for snatching cash from woman

NAKODAR  The Mehat Pur police have booked two unidentified persons on charge of snatching cash from a woman.

Rupindar Kaur wife of Manoj Kumar a resident of Chopra Mohalla ,Mehat Pur complained to the police that she was returning home on her scooter (PB-08-DC-1418) from Nakodar on September 20  and her niece was pillion riding  .She said that when she reached near a marriage palace   two motor cycle borne unidentified accused attacked and hit scooter and she fell down and the accused  snatched her purse fled away. She said that purse contained Rs 7000, her passport, a smart phone and other documents.

Investigating Officer Harnek Singh that a case under sections 379-B (snatching) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused.

Increasing incidents of snatching have created a sense of insecurity among residents and put a question mark on police functioning. This is second incident of snatching in the jurisdiction of Mehat Pur police station in a week.
