Gangs of robbers looting liquor vends busted, 5 arrested

JALANDHAR/NAKODAR The Jalandhar (rural) police on Saturday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers looting liquor vends and arrested its five members with fire arms.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Navjot Singh Mahal told media persons that the accused have been identified as Pawandeep Singh and Sandeep Singh alias Rimpa ,residents of Sunnar Kalan village under  Nurmahal police station , Jaspreet Singh alias Jassa a resident  Bhode Samrai village under  Jamsher sadar police station , Sukhvir Singh alias  Sonu a resident of  Khusropur village in  Kapurthala ,Paramvir Singh alias  Rinka a resident of  Mehtabgarh village in  Kapurthala.

SSP said that Shiv Kumar, In-charge CIA Staff along with police party was conducting patrolling near Panj Peer turning point, Jandial Road and Sakander Singh SHO Sadar Nakodar along with police party reached there.  Information was received that Sandeep Singh, Pawandeep Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Sukhvir Singh and Paramvir Singh have made a gang and commit incidents of snatching.  These persons have earlier also been convicted in incidents of snatching and they had came on parole and now are absconders.  It was informed that today they are armed with lethal weapons in a Scorpio Car bearing fake registration No.( PB-08-AZ- 4299) and are going to commit looting from liquor vendors.  SSP said that in this regard, a case under sections 392/395/379-B/402/482 of the IPC, 25 Arms Act was registered in Nakodar sadar .

He said that while conducting checking, at about 07:30 AM one while colored Scorpio Car bearing registration No. PB-08-AZ-4299 was spotted coming from village Bajuha side.  On seeing the police party, the driver of the Scorpio Car immediately tried to reverse the car and escape from the spot, but the police party immediately came into action and apprehended all the persons sitting in the car and recovered 01 Pistol 32 Bore, 01 Country made Pistol 315 Bore, 03 live cartridges, 02 Datars from them .

SSP said that the Lambra police arrested Nitin Arora a resident of Mohalla Ashok Nagar,  Jalandhar with one country made Pistol 32 Bore and 02 live cartridges.
