Draw for 20 temporary licenses for sale of fire crackers to be held on October 18- CP

Applications can be submitted in CP office from October 10-15

 

 JALANDHAR: The Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today said that the district administration would conduct the draw for issuing 20 temporary licenses for the sale of fire crackers in the city on October 18th.

Divulging more details, the Commissioner of Police said that in wake of the directions issued by the Department of Industries and Commerce wide letter number Tech/ Explosive Rule/ 928-B dated September 30, 2019 and orders on CWP Number 23548/2017 these temporary licenses were to be issued by District Magistrate. He said that these licenses would be issued via draw in Red Cross Bhawan on October 18 at 3 pm. Bhullar said that these licenses would be issued for sale of fire crackers in Burlton Park.

The Commissioner of Police said that any person above the age of 18 years could apply for the license. He said that the application form for the license could be obtained from the Licensing branch of the Commissioner of Police office till 5 pm in the evening from October 10. Bhullar said that any application received after 5 pm on October 15th would not be considered. He said that the license granted would be subject to the decision or directions in the matter, pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Hon’ble High Court.
