Anti-larva team detects 37 larva cases

Jalandhar: As part of its drive against vector-borne diseases in the city, the anti-larva cell of the health department detected 37 dengue larva cases in various areas of the city on Thursday.

Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Vinod Kumar, Sher Singh, Amit Kumar, Gurwinder Singh, Harpreet Pal, Rajwinder Singh, Shakti Gopal, Pawan Kumar, Pradeep Kumar, Bhupinder Singh, Jagjit Singh, Sarbjeet and others conducted inspections in Jinda road, Baba Budha Singh Nagar, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Colony, New Amar Nagar, Maqdoompura, Upkar Nagar, New Shivaji Nagar, Bhoor Mandi, Beant Nagar and Tilak Nagar.

The teams visited 690 houses covered the population of 2934 and checked 167 desert coolers and 883 waste containers.  

 

The members of teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes
